Cityheart have achieved financial close on phase one of the University of Gloucestershire student accommodation project, Blackfriars Residences, Gloucester.
Cityheart were appointed as the Universities Strategic Development Partner to deliver 500 student bedrooms, over two phases.
Aviva Investors provided funding for the project. Vinci Construction have been selected as the main contractor to deliver the initial phase comprising 295 bedrooms and supporting facilities across 4 buildings for completion in September 2018. Cityheart will manage the completed residences once complete.
The site at Ladybellgate Street was part of the former Barbican car park. The site was acquired from Gloucester City Council. The remainder of the site will be developed in to a formal car park by Cityheart, for Gloucester City Council use.
