Cityheart have secured a unanimous approval from Gloucester City Council Planning Committee for the second phase of student accommodation at Blackfriars Residences, Ladybellegate Street, Gloucester.
The second phase comprises a further 186 beds of accommodation and associated supporting facilities within two blocks of accommodation on the remaining area of the former Barbican car park site. Once phase 2 is complete the combined phases will provide a total of 481 student beds.
Cityheart aim to appoint a main contractor to commence construction in May 2019 for a target completion of works in August 2020, before handing the completed blocks to Cityheart Living who will manage the development.
Students from the University of Gloucestershire and Hartpury College and University will be eligible to apply for rooms for the commencement of the 2020 academic year.
