Cityheart was appointed as preferred developer by LocatED to deliver a new 420-place primary school as part of a mixed-use scheme, including 19 open-market apartments.
The new two-form entry school, located on Coombe Road in Kingston upon Thames, offers light and modern teaching and learning spaces, in addition to facilities such as a dedicated dance studio. A rooftop play area provides an external learning environment with eco playground and sports pitch, whilst landscaping and tree planting around the school acts as a soft perimeter for safety.
The development involved the demolition of an existing five storey office building and the construction of a new basement, which was n designed with consideration to the adjacent railway line. The primary school and residential uses are separated within the building, with dedicated independent entrances. The project was completed in Spring 2023.
