Cityheart were appointed by Hull City Council as Preferred Development Partner following a public procurement process in 2010. The appointment involved the redevelopment of Orchard Park, a derelict retail centre in Hull that formed part of the Council’s wider regeneration plans for the area. The development also linked the previously detached NHS Integrated Primary Care Resource Centre with the community.
The first phase of the scheme comprised 10 mixed retail units totalling 1,600m² alongside customer parking, with various pre-lets secured prior to completion in April 2015. Phase Two completed in June 2015, delivering the anchor unit for Heron Foods.
Cityheart’s role involved the design, construction, finance and letting risk for the scheme, with funding raised by leveraging the Council’s covenant, whilst ultimately providing an income stream for the Council.
