Cityheart achieved Practical Completion on the first phase of its planned residences for the University of Gloucestershire in support of its student accommodation requirements. This first phase is located at Ladybellegate Street in heart of Gloucestershire.
Cityheart’s contractor, Vinci Construction UK Limited completed the four block, 295 bed accommodation project on the 4th September 2018, where they handed over the buildings to Cityheart’s operational accommodation management team in readiness for the student’s arrival.
The completed accommodation is marketed and managed by Cityheart through its operational and facilities management team located at the Blackfriars Residences and supported by head office in Chester. The first student residents from the University of Gloucestershire and Hartpury College began arriving over the weekend of 8th September 2018.
The site itself located at Ladybellegate Street was formally part of the Barbican surface car park, which Cityheart acquired from the City Council. The remainder of the site is due to be developed as a second phase of planned future student accommodation project, which is likely to comprise of a further 186 student beds housed in two blocks, subject to planning approval.
